Signs of spring with the snow melt
As the snow begins to melt, Naruko makes a magnificent transformation into spring. All of a sudden Naruko’s quiet, white winter landscape becomes alive and full of color. Particularly enjoyable are the abundance of region’s flora. First come the fukinoto (butterbur scape), a common ingredient used to make tempura or miso dishes in Japanese cooking. Next come the Adonis, Narcissus, Dogtooth violet, plum and cherry blossoms, and Spiraea. The gentle spring breeze will encourage you during your tour of local flowers.
